Swirly Girls : An Awesome Bakery
So my friend Brooke and I went for a visit to this bakery for v-day and it was awesome. I think the macaroons were the very best....and they were bite size. I was totally sick from sugar and we only spent 13 dollars on a ridiculous amount of junk. I highly recommend the chocolate crescent-twas delicious! The money is totally worth it if your going to spend the calories...Make the calories count!

I Love Modern Family
Phil: I'm the cool dad. That's my thing. I'm hip. I surf the Web. I text. LOL: laughing out loud. OMG: Oh my God. WTF: Why the face? Um you know, I know all the dances to High School Musical so..
Claire: What did I tell you would happen if you got him a gun? Deal with this.
Phil: Buddy, uncool.
Claire: That's it? No. The agreement was that if he shoots someone, you shoot him.
Phil: We were serious about that?
Claire: Yes, we were, and now you have to follow through.
Luke: I'm so sorry!
Claire: Liar. Go.
Phil: He's got a birthday party.
Alex: What's more important here, dad?
Claire: You can shoot him afterwards. He'll be home at 2:00.
Phil: I can't shoot him at 2:00. I'm showing a house at 2:00.
Alex: What about 3:00?
Claire: No, he's got a soccer game at 3:00, and then-- Oh, we got to leave for that dinner thing at 5:00. 4:15. We could shoot him at 4:15.
Phil: Yeah, I guess that works for me. [Claire writes "Shoot Luke" on schedule. Luke groans.] Sorry, dude. It's on the calendar.
Mitchell: It's Cameron's turn to be out in the world interacting with other grown-ups while I get to stay at home and plot the death of Dora the Explorer. [mumbling] Fill her backpack with bricks, and throw her into Candycane River...
Manny: [after being pull out of class] Is something wrong? Who's died?
Gloria: No one, Manny.
Jay: Why would you even think that?
Gloria: In Colombia, Manny went to Pablo Escobar Elementary School. If you were pulled out of class, it was definitely to identify a body.
My Date with Toyota
I had an interview downtown and had some extra time to kill after the interview and before work. So naturally I say to myself let's get my oil changed (because I am so very practical). I get free oil changes for two years with my Toyota Corolla- though I've gotten a couple recall notices and haven't taken it in for those yet either. So I went in and they said it was going to take roughly an hour and a half- by this point I'm starving (it's around 1:30 and I didn't have breakfast) so I jokingly asked who was going to take me to lunch. To my surprise the service guy said "We'll get you fixed right up". He went and got me a sandwich, vanilla latte`, cookies and fruit- FOR FREE! Then he asked if there was anything else I would like- I was staring out the window looking at the new RAV4's, so I said one of those :-) He let me test drive just about every car on the lot to pass the time and even let me go over snow banks and what not- It was one of the most fun free afternoons I've had in a really long time! Kudos to the awesome Toyota workers! I really want a RAV4 though now....maybe someday. Best news yet I heard they are going to release a hybrid one for 2012 awesomeness to the MAX!
Raspberry Jalapeno Jelly Recipe
I am dying to try this- I've bought it from local farmer's markets and the grocery stores and it is amazing!
Ingredients
1 cup fresh or frozen raspberries
1/2 cup chopped green bell pepper
1/4 cup chopped jalapeno pepper
3 cups white sugar
3/4 cup apple cider vinegar
1/3 (6 fluid ounce) container liquid pectin
1 sprig fresh mint (optional)
Directions
Sterilize jars and lids by immersing in boiling water for at least 5 minutes.
In a saucepan, combine the raspberries, bell pepper, and jalapeno peppers with the sugar and cider vinegar. Bring to a boil over medium-high heat, and boil rapidly for 1 minute. Remove from heat and let stand for 5 minutes.
Stir in the liquid pectin, and run the mixture through a strainer to remove bits of peppers. Pour the strained liquid into sterilized jars, and seal. Store in a cool dark place. Refrigerate after opening.
